LOCAL GOVERNMENT TRAINING INSTITUTE

The Rector of the Local Government Training Institute is pleased to announce to the General Public that the Institute has opened the admission process to its  Long Term Courses. The Long Term Courses offered at the Local Government Training Institute include 6- one year Certificate Courses and 6-two years Diploma Courses. The details of Certificate and Diploma Courses are explained here under.

CERTIFICATE COURSES (ONE YEAR COURSES)

  1. Basic Technician Certificate in Local Government Administration (BTCLA)
  2. Basic Technician Certificate in Local Government Finance and Accounting (BTCLF)
  3. Basic Technician Certificate in Community Development (BTCCD)
  4. Basic Technician Certificate in Human Resource Management (BTCHRM)
  5. Basic Technician Certificate in  Records, Archives and Information Management (CRAIM)
  6. Basic Technician Certificate in Procurement and Supplies Management(BTCPS

DIPLOMA COURSES (TWO YEAR COURSES)
1.      Ordinary Diploma in Local Government Administration (DLA)
2.      Ordinary Diploma in Local Government Finance and Accounting (DLF)
3.      Ordinary Diploma in Community Development (DCD).
4.      Ordinary Diploma in Human Resource Management (DHRM)
5.      Ordinary Diploma in Records, Archives and Information Management (CRAIM)
6.      Ordinary Diploma in Procurement and Supply Management ( DPS)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
a)      BASIC TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE COURSES (NTA LEVEL 4)
The minimum entry qualification is Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or its equivalent with at least four passes of grade ”D” in any subjects excluding  religious subjects. For a Certificate course in Local Government Finance and Accounting one of the passes should be of Mathematics.

b)     ORDINARY DIPLOMA COURSES (NTA LEVEL 6)
The minimum entry qualification is advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass and a subsidiary OR  a Certificate  from any  learning institution  registered by the Government or recognized by any Government body.
